Chef John's Story
My journey to diabetes wellness began when my grandson was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at 22 months of age, and that's when I became aware of the need for a voice for truth about diabetes.
First, I read info from the hospital and American Diabetes Association, which is about blood sugar testing and counting carbohydrates before injecting insulin. Then, I read The China Study by T. Colin Campbell, PhD., where I learned Type 1 Diabetes is likely triggered by a food fed to infants and not by genes.
The 1992 The New England Journal of Medicine published an article on Diabetes Type 1. Every child in the research, which was newly diagnosed with Diabetes Type 1 had been fed infant formula.
It appears that if a child cannot digest cow milk protein, it could leak through the gut into a child's blood. The body then senses the foreign protein, which mimics the insulin-producing Beta cells of the pancreas.
When a child's immune system attacks the cow milk protein, it also shuts down insulin-producing cells of the pancreas. The result is type 1 diabetes due to "friendly fire" triggered by the cow milk protein.
Yes, we have known since 1992, that consuming cow milk products could lead to an autoimmune disorder, where a child's immune system could permanently shut down pancreas insulin production.
In 1994, The American Academy of Pediatrics issued a report. "Based upon more than 90 studies, the group agreed that indeed, the risk of diabetes can very likely be reduced if infants are not exposed to cow's milk proteins early in life." Pediatrics 94 (1994): 752-4.
Why doesn't American Diabetes Association and JDRF tell parents what could trigger Type 1 Diabetes?
The ADA website as of 2019 still blames Type 1 Diabetes on "genetic and unknown factors."
JDRF, a non-profit for Diabetes Type 1 research and advocacy, has raised 2 billion dollars to find a cure. The best "cure" is prevention. But prevention doesn't enrich big pharma, a $50 billion dollar industry.
The dairy and drug industries do not tell us that Benjamin Spock, M. D., The Baby and Child Care author, (not Mr. Spock on the space ship Enterprise) stated after 1992 disclosure of diabetes risk from infant formula "that parents should be given good information in order to decide what to feed their children."
Why is there no warning label on infant formula?"Do not feed to infants under 2 years of age"?
The cost of insulin, test strips, pumps, meters and other conventional treatments costs approximately $15,000 a year or $900,000 over a diabetic's life-time. Where's the money for education and prevention?
This is why I get up every day- to tell the real truth about Type 1 Diabetes. I believe you and I can prevent diabetes in infants and youth by avoiding foods that trigger diabetes and choosing Diabetes Free foods. This is why I founded 1Love-1World Ltd. for global Diabetes Free education.

Yes, we can heal at any age. Let the healing begin now.
